Our Story

Founded in 2014, Unexpected was born from the belief that clothing should speak of personality and values. Rooted in a streetwear-inspired aesthetic that is both relaxed and energetic, we design original prints that go beyond style and express spirit.

Our logo, crafted from ten letters in Chicano-inspired typography, forms the shape of an abstract, untamed flower. It symbolizes fearlessness, freedom, inner peace, and fullness. It reflects the life we hope to inspire through every piece.

We are Erica and Nemo, two women with very different personalities but one shared vision. Erica is bold, extroverted, and fueled by intense sports like martial arts. Nemo is quiet, composed, and meticulous, often happiest doing absolutely nothing. Despite our differences, we have always shared a deep connection through fashion. Most importantly, we agree on one thing: clothing is emotional. The right outfit can shift your mindset, give you strength, and change how you show up in the world.

That is why Unexpected creates for women who move between workouts, work, and the unpredictable turns of life. Our designs are made to empower.
